I Almost Wish



I almost wish I hadn’t done what I had done

Everytime I hear you I die a little more inside;

Why is it still me you shun?

You are scratching at my core

And have made my heart sore



I almost wish you still loved me

I wish you hadn’t put me aside

Why can’t you just let me be?

You’ve made me want to cut my own throat

With nothing to leave but a note



I almost wish I had kept on lying

Telling you the tale you wished to hear

And then all went black and I started dying

Knowing that you loved only a lie

Now that I’ve told you, I still just want to die



I almost wish I didn’t love you still

I’ve become cold-hearted, and you’d best fear

Because I now wish for you nothing but ill

Because all you did was make me fall

As I held on and hoped someone would hear my call

When you first told me --your disposition

You tried to make it--, sound simple and sweet

You’ve carried this burden-- far too long

Know that you—you can lean on me



When I see you-- I don’t feel pity no

I feel a love-- so deep within me

Yet at the same time-- I feel so alone

Waiting the day, when you fly away



I think I’m feeling-- a million emotions

Nothing’s prepared me-- for what now I see

I watching my best friend-- fading quickly away

I wish it would end, I wish he’d fly away



I see you ly there and so I lean over and I kiss your cheek

Touching you softly-- and whispering

You are my best friend, --I’ll love you forever,

You have all your feathers now, you can fly away
